Patient Search

From the Dashboard, or by clicking Search in the navigation menu, search for a patient by name and date of birth, or by Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) to view their medication history.

Search for a Patient

If the search fields contain criteria from a previous search, select Clear Search.

  1. Alternatively, expand the IHI section and enter the patient's Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI).

For more information about Healthcare Identifiers, see The Australian Government's Services Australia website.

  2. Select Search.

  3. In Patient Search Results, records matching the search criteria display in a grid with the following columns:

    • First name
    • Middle name
    • Surname
    • Date of Birth
    • Sex
    • Address
    • Postcode
  4. Apply additional filters to each column header.

  5. Select a patient to view their Canberra Script profile.

Record Type identifies the type of profile available for each patient:

Record Type Description

The patient has a Transactional only profile.

The patient information has been received from clinical systems and only contains their Medication History.

The patient record has Regulatory only information. No transactional information (Medication History) exists for this patient.

The patient' s Medication History is linked to their patient's profile.

Patient Search Results display the patient information sourced from the Medication History. For example, patient name.
